In modern society we face a great deal of desire. We are in a state of uneasiness and nervousness without consistent direction. I express and relieve inner tension and draw my own inner landscape. My work is an imaginary landscape that combines symbols of desire. I create my own landscape by combining various images and arranging them so that they feel familiar and unfamiliar. A window in painting is a channel through which exchanges and relationships between the inside and outside worlds, and aspirations for the outside appear. In my work, a window is a passage that connects the outside world and the inside, meaning boundaries. The landscape full of plants through the window in the work is a space where you can feel the strong vitality and freshness of nature. Plants exist within a standardized framework, and they want freedom across boundaries. The green energy of plants moistens dry greyish cities and gives them a sense of relaxation and stability. It is an illusion of longing for a nature of strong vitality and healing. At the same time, it is accompanied by expectations and fears about what lies beyond the dense plants. The familiarity behind the comfortable and fresh natural scenery reveals the inner landscape. Humans are destitute animals. So we always want and dream of something. Dreaming is a fantasy, but we live our lives using that desire as a driving force. I hope that you will be able to take a moment to look inside yourself through the landscape viewed from the boundary between the inner and outer worlds.
