In my painting, the space surrounding me becomes flat and the time pauses.
When the moment is captured in stillness, I feel like there’s only me and the space floating in the world. There I find another moment which will be translated onto the canvas.
When I encounter the evanescent moment, the world grows quiet, and I know that it’s only me and the moment. Now it’s time to listen to the silence.
The act of painting is a great comfort to me. As each thin layer of pigment accumulates over the surface, I quietly listen to the watery sound of moments.
