작가노트
This work expresses objects based on works by artist Kim Tschang-yeul, who is known as one of the nation's leading visionaries and water-drop painters.
If the water droplets drawn in the picture overlap optical illusions and illusions, my work has settled on the plane with glass beads and has overlapping another optical illusions in three dimensions. The work is divided into two color backgrounds and is brilliant using glass, the material most similar to the actual droplets, on the rough texture of the jute canvas, while the shadow of glass droplets on the canvas varies with light over time.
It expresses the visual sensibility of more than one material in a modern way. What color means in the work is that I express my emotions moment by moment in color. The emotions and emotions that everyone changes several times a day are the greatest abilities of human beings. To me, these are tasks that remember the past and prepare for the present and the future. Artist Kim Tschang-yeul's main use of jute canvas means the past, and colors and glass express my feelings and sensibilities in the present and the future.
Our daily lives are changing even before we feel awkward. Among the various feelings of droplets are clarity and transparency. Among them, the transparency of glass, which is unchanged, is the biggest for me. I imagine looking into the past through a glass lens.
The glass moves. This was an intense first impression of glass. My stereotype, which i recognized as a solid, fragile material, began to melt and move at temperatures above 1500°C. More than 1500 fires exhale heat through the eyes and respiratory tract, which melts into the heart.
At high temperatures, the glass swings as if it were alive, and it gradually cools down at room temperature, creating a sense of brightness. The cooled glass reveals the beauty that was concealed, and its splendor and brilliance devour everything around it, even my vision. Behind this beauty, however, is the cool, hesitant sharpness lurks. The two sides of the glass have a very similar aspect to the two sides of the human being, but above all, it is sober.
The work of dealing with glass creates mental and physical tension, and the whole body is covered with sweat and constantly stimulates the five senses. The uniqueness of glass alone is the greatest motivation and energy that has ever made glass work addictive. All of my work is not just an expression of the feeling of glass, but also the double-sidedness of a special material called "glass", which begins at high temperatures in a liquid state and has the appearance of a solid form at low temperatures.
For me, glass is a communication tool and visual language that allows me to express in detail all the emotional ideas I have felt from personal experience.
