When I paint, I try to use as many colors as possible. Just as the iridescence of a rainbow sings the music of hope, I wish my paintings embrace so much hope, love, and beauty. I feel the glowing light from them whisper in my ears, to be thankful. Also to love more and be happier… My first series of Under the Wing depicts a simplified form of a wing that embraces great love. It carries my belief that even when the world constantly throws you adversities, the angel’s wing always cuddles you in peace and coziness. A chick hides under its mother’s wings when feels threatened, because the space under the wings always provides peace, warmth and safety. It is also where the chick rests and gathers refreshing energy to grow on. Therefore I attempted to portray the calm, warm and delightful energy beneath the wings. Then the wings that grow brighter describe our various relationships. When different colors are placed all together, each color not only interacts with one another, but also often changes its role. In that same manner, humans interact better with each other when together. For my latest wings, I attempted new techniques and more flexible arrangement of the wings, hoping to incorporate the buoyancy and diversity observed in the contemporary world. My heart always leaps with anticipation to create new series of wings.
