Folk paintings (minhwa) are a bowl of time and dreams. To me, who majored in spatial design, the space within folk paintings is where time and dreams coexist. It is an infinite space where I can achieve whatever I think of... Weaving time into my own story, I create folk paintings with my own imagination. Since the very first year I started folk painting, the world of time and dreams has settled on one side of my heart. In my work, time flows across the past and the present. The stories in my work are created as if I were dreaming. The endless stories of time and dreams all exist equally in my paintings. This is the way I see folk paintings and how I interpret and empathize with the infinite space of fantasy. In addition, I employ the technique of media art and augmented reality(AR) to express my dreams toward another new world.
