작가노트
When a creature is born, it grows, becomes awakened, and finally arrives at nature itself. My work is an illustration of my will to relish and learn to experience the principles of nature.
This is much in line with the series of stages mentioned in Zhuangzi’s [Wandering on the Way]: starting from the primitive instinct of perception, to rational thinking ability, then to the transcendence and deliverance of one’s spirit to absolute freedom, and ultimately to the state of wandering at any matter.
My work spans from the study of human nature to the interaction and symbiosis of humans and nature.
The main subjects in my paintings such as human beings, pine trees, fish, flowers, ducks, white herons, rivers and fogs may be fragments of empathic self-realization.
The pleasure of wandering about the canvas leaves behind a faint emotion, and it grows into a poem.

Wandering on the Way
Through the mist
across the river
emerges a mountain from far away.
A pair of white herons glide
where my eyesight remains,
and now the images alive
fill the emptiness of the frame.
As the skin of the river
gently disperses its mist,
a ferryboat slides over the water
expanding the horizon amidst.
One of the white herons
perches on the roof
too gently as if worried that
the delicacy might crumble under its feet
"Can you fly, too?"
"I’m trying to."
"You don't even have wings."
"I can fly without wings..."
