An aquarium is an apparent, but transparent shell for tropical fish. In my paintings, the schools of Neon tetra that constantly make a simple, repetitive movement within the canvas seem to reflect our own lives after all.  

A poem for the little things
In this modern society, we identify ‘power’ with authority and ability. We believe that this ‘power’ is the source of change. Through my paintings, I attempt to reveal this ‘power’ by visualizing giant phenomena in a comprehensive image. The question: What is the power composed of, and where does it come from? I focus on the little things first, since the tiny units that constitute a giant form are the genuine source of power. To demonstrate this, I bring the tiny tropical fish from the  series into play. I try my best to portray each of hundreds, perhaps thousands of them in an attentive manner. They may look the same at first glance, but when looked upon closer, each of them is a distinctive being. I hope each of the fish, and each of us who is faithful to one’s own role in life to be respected for being existent.
